January 2010 Report
President's Report - ARTHUR GREEN
To Quote our Treasurer, Moe Legare from his report in the News Letter from the Marlboro Show; “How time does fly when you’re having a great time”. That seemed to be the consensus at the final 2009 NCCA knife show on November 22nd at the Marlboro MA Holiday Inn. Thanks again to Bill, Linda, & daughter Lynn Cain for their long standing efforts in making this a great show for our members and general public.
Also reported by Moe, the NCCA has had a successful year in 2009; the club is financially strong. The success of this organization comes directly from the support of it’s membership from dues, raffle tickets and your participation at our 5 knife shows each year.
For all of our members; Don’t forget to sell or purchase the raffle tickets that were sent in the January News Letter and mail your checks and stubs to our treasurer Moe Legare. ( Some members have been sending them to me which creates an extra step and cost to get the money into the club treasury.)
Our club has been offered accessibility to a relatively new internet knife collecting group, iKnifeCollector.com. (The next generation of knife collecting) by the creator Scott King, the noted Elephant Toenail collector. The board has voted to accept Scott's offer and I started the process by personally joining and creating a Group for all NCCA Members to join.
In a nutshell this is an interactive social network site of knife collectors with many sub features including; forum, real time chat, blogs, picture and video, to name a few, and sub groups, like the one that I have started for the NCCA. Check it out!
Our next show will be in Marlboro MA on the 21st of March, followed by the Annual Show in Mystic CT. check out the complete show schedule on the Calendar Page.
Since the January News Letter was published I have received the Annual Show award knives from Great Eastern Cutlery, I had included Ad cuts of similar knives, the actual knives are pictured below. Get your display ready so you can have a chance of winning one of these traditional pattern American Made Knives.
Until April, Art
